How would you feel if yours was a dying language like that of the Koussountou? Most likely, there would be no one to speak your language in 100 years. Would not this be a hard time if you spoke that language? There is almost no information about Koussountou speakers, but most people in their part of Africa, are either farmers or cattle herders. They need to adjust to merging with other people groups. Language and culture are key elements of people's identity, so this might be a hard time for those who speak this language.
Ministry Obstacles: Koussountou are mainly Muslim. Their form of Islam allows for them to put some of their faith in the spirits of their ancestors and spirit beings other than Allah, the God of Islam. A very small number are Christian.
Scripture Focus: "As soon as Solomon finished his prayer, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple. And the priests could not enter the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD filled the LORD’s house."
- 2 Chronicles 7:1-2
